Things I Love Thursday + thoughts

Some things I’ve been loving:

  • My new job
  • Office supplies
  • The Rijksmuseum
  • Fantastic friends
  • New stuff from IKEA
  • The Christmas section at IKEA
  • Chocolate with sea salt
  • Biffy Clyro
  • LUSH, as always (the Christmas stuff is my favourite ever, and I’ve got lots to share with you in an upcoming post)
  • This is Us
  • Coming second in a pub quiz
  • Travelling and just “going for it”
  • The Mediterranean Sea x1000000000

I’ve been thinking about my blog a lot lately. I don’t know what to do with it. The format I had over the past 6 years isn’t working out anymore for me, so I’m leaning towards revamping it entirely and creating a new blog (same URL)… but, then again, I still want to keep things like my TILTs and occasional posts about LUSH. I really, really want to introduce some short stream-of-consciousness posts about random (or not so random…) thoughts/topics, so perhaps I should start semi-afresh with a nice new layout and a clean slate. Any thoughts? I miss blogging more regularly, so I’d love to be able to get back into it.

Things I Love Thursday

  • Self-improvement
  • Exercise! I went to a Pilates class this week and I have concluded that it is my type of thing, exercise-wise. Lots of stretching. I feel terribly sore now, but that means it’s worked! Hopefully I’ll get better at it – since I don’t really have much upper body strength, so any time I had to support my body weight with my hands = disaster.
  • Brian May in concert – brilliance itself
  • Feedly (so in love with my feed reader – even if I still miss Google Reader’s awesome inbuilt search engine)
  • Two of the most beautiful and wonderful German people who visited last week
  • Let’s Do It Malta – I’m so excited about how this group is organising two days of clean-ups on 10 and 11 May (and it all sounds like some fun in the sun)
  • Rabbit
  • Chips
  • Dana McKeon
  • Lovely friends
  • Rather hilarious theatre
  • The Festa Frawli (Strawberry Festival) on Sunday – YUM
  • Compiling another medley (I do love them)
  • Feeling a bit more mature (when compared to a few years ago)
  • Crazy delicious food I had yesterday – it was a sneak preview of some premium chicken and beef products that are going to be available in Malta as from May – the brand is called Olly’s and I’m already aching to have a few friends over so we can feast on some cornflake covered chicken… YUM

Things I Love Thursday

Not in the best of states to write a TiLT today, but I guess these are the days on which it’s most important to dwell on the little things that have been brightening up the days.

  • Florence, Italy!
  • Lots and lots and lots of food in Italy – including (but not limited to) pannacotta, pizza, steak, cheesecake, vin santo with cantuccini, etc etc and so on.
  • Spending time with my boyfriend (especially in a foreign land)
  • Renting a car (not so awesome – driving is so stressful in Italian cities) and visiting beautiful Tuscan places
  • Feminism
  • My Home and Miscellaneous gift guides
  • Spending time with an old friend
  • Lunch with lovely law course + life friends
  • Hearing some beautiful carols at a Valletta church
  • Visiting a gorgeous shop in Valletta and purchasing the most gorgeous candle ever
  • Compiling two medleys
  • An elaborate graduation party
  • Birthday drinks for one of my loveliest friends

Things I Love Thursday

  • Starting my Christmas Gift Guide series (I’ve been dreaming about it for months… What can I say, I do love Christmas, and presents, and list-compiling.)
  • Scones. I made these on Sunday (for a study date), and they’re stupendous.
  • Getting more words of my thesis written. I should really write an update about my progress, but I keep using all my productive time for actual writing! Oh well. :P
  • Celebrating Halloween with my best friend (we watched The Nightmare Before Christmas and ate sweets because we had no trick-or-treaters)
  • My friend’s awesome cat
  • Having a Fresh Meat premier evening at my house, with ribs
  • The loveliest study date ever
  • Boyfriend-time of awesomeness
  • Collapsing with laughter during a lecture because our lecturer decided that a certain word that he wrote on the whiteboard was so hilarious that he needed to spend minutes laughing at it – you had to be there
  • Working on a jigsaw puzzle

Things I Love Thursday

  • Starting Couch-to-5k
  • Compiling a little October Favourites post
  • Watching The Mousetrap at the Manoel

  • A long overdue lunch with friends
  • Halloween plans with my best friend (for the first time in three years! Last year, she was living in Southampton; the year before, I lived in Durham. A sorely missed tradition.)
  • An afternoon in/on Comino (the caves! the sea! the boat ride! the picnic!)
  • Getting work done on my thesis
  • Blogging about my thesis progress
  • Less stress-related crying than usual

  • Dancing at Notte Bianca (and other bits of Notte Bianca – not the crowds, but those were expected)
  • Seeing real improvement in a student
  • Finding a book at the library which I had been trying to track down for YEARS (main problem: they keep it in a LOCKED CABINET. WHY.)
